Loko: No Ring No Masters 5

 

I usually don't do No Ring shows but I was asked to do this one and I believe in Loko as a company so here goes.

Borracho v. Lane Bloodie

We had us a hoss fight to kick things off. I don't know much about Borracho except he's a big dude and got a couple of tube shots in on Lane. Lane Bloodie is a legend and here he proved it. The beer bottle shot at the beginning was a great start. Lane used a meat hook on Borracho. Also, the ending, with Lane Bloodie piledriving Borracho off the stage through a TV, was great. The match itself was good but nothing too crazy.

Anthraxx defended the X-Brand Championship against Mickey Vargas

Next up we had the X-Brand Championship on the line. I haven't seen Anthraxx since the H2O days and he looked like a killer here. That stage dive by Anthraxx, hitting Vargas to finish the match, was great. Mickey Vargas is another one I'm not super familiar with but he seems to be a bruiser and I like that so I'll keep my eye out for more of his stuff. This match was great and the crowd was really into it and really behind Mickey Vargas.

Danny Darko v. Buddy Badcock 

Up next we had a UK import against an Alabama guy. It's been a bit since I've seen Darko in a match and he had a lot of charisma here. Buddy Badcock is a good big guy who is on the rise. The match itself was just okay. It took a while to get going and the brawling outside was a nice touch but i coulda used a bit more violence.

Marty 2 Fly v. Su Yung 

Intergender match-up next. I was impressed with Su Yung here as she went full heel and was great with being mean to the crowd. Plus she used a Weedwacker so bonus points for that. Marty was great here and it's matches like this that made me glad he didn't retire and that powerbomb he finished Su Yung with was brutal. This was a great match.

Nino Extremo v. Mickie Knuckles 

This was our main event. Nino Extremo is awesome and a standout in the Texas scene and I can't wait to see him blow up. This guy took some insane punishment from Mickie Knuckles including a popper bat shot to the nuts. Mickie is a fucking legend and I'm glad she's doing better after some injury and health stuff. This match was a wild and chaotic brawl and it was pretty good.

Overall 

For a no-ring show, this was good. For any show this was good. If all no-ring shows were like this, I'd have more interest. The crowd was great and what made the show. The matches were pretty good my personal favorite being the Vargas/Anthraxx match.
