Hoodfoot v. Slice Boogie

After stiff wrestling, Slice Boogie attacked Hoodfoot with a bottle of Hennessy and threw Hoodfoot through a board. Slice Boogie for v the v win via roll up. This was a wrestle-heavy match, but it was really good.

Slice Boogie won via pinfall

2.75/5

Rob Shit v. Mickie Knuckles

This match was okay for what it was, but I was blood thirsty at this point, so this match didn't exactly quench my thirst.

Mickie Knuckles won via pinfall

1.5/5

Tim Strange v. One Man Kru in a Taipei Death Match

There wasn't too much to this match except Tim Strange just beating the shit out of One Man Kru. Goddamn.

Tim Strange won via referee stoppage

2/5

Tarzan Duran v. Akira

There wasn't a lot of Deathmatch here, but this was honestly one of the better indie matches I've seen all year. These two stood out, and I loved them.

Akira won via pinfall

4.75/5

Hernandez v. Necro Butcher

This was decent but very slow. Like WWE is slow.

Necro Butcher won via knockout

2/5

Masada defended the SVN Ultraviolent Championship against Phil Insane

Phil Insane put Masada through a barbed wire board. Phil Insane stabbed Masada in the face with a chicken paw. These two fought on the stage where Masada bodyslammed Phil Insane on the stage, and Phil Insane rolled off the stage through a barbed wire board and tacks. Masada slammed Phil Insane onto a pile of chicken feet. Masada got Phil Insane with the roll up. This was a pretty intense and hard-hitting match. It was good.

Masada retained via pinfall

2.75/5

Overall

Other than the main event, this was a throwaway show. My blood thirst was not quenched here. There was some decent wrestling, but that's not what I want from an SVN show.

Masada gave One Man Kru a saito suplex onto the Barbed Wire board. The match finished when Masada knocked out One Man Kru with a chair. 3.25/5

Slice Boogie v. Rob Shit v. The Ring Crew Guy

This was supposed to be Slice Boogie against Rob Shit but somehow the ring crew guy got involved. To spite the story being weird this was a good match.

Slice Boogie won via pinfall

3/5

Miedo Extremo v. Sonico

Outside of the ring Miedo Extremo used a chair and barbed wire on Sonico. Once they got back in the ring, Sonico Sabued Miedo with a chair, and Miedo Extremo used a tube on Sonico. Sonico suplexed Miedo Extremo through a pane of glass then these two had a nice lucha exchange. Miedo finished this with a fire thunder driver on a tube. 4/5

El Shlako v. El Negro

After some Lucha libre shit broke down and we had chairs and tubes. El Shlako gave El Negro a snowplow onto a barbed wire board. El Negro finished off El Shlako with a back suplex through a pane of glass. What can I say other than this was a lucha libre classic?

El Negro won via pinfall

2.75/5

Phil Insane v. Bobby Beverly

Phil Insane jump-started this match by spearing Bobby Beverly through a pane of glass. These two really went at it outside of the ring with stiff chair shots then Bobby Beverly brought a tube into play when they got back into the ring. Bobby Beverly threw a bundle of tubes at Phil Insane and Phil Insane went off the apron through 2 chairs below. These guys beat the fuck out of each other some more with tubes until Bev finished off Phil Insane with a head shot with a chair and a fisherman's buster.

Bobby Beverly won via pinfall

4.25/5

Eric Ryan v. Alex Colon

We had Alex Colon dropkick and put the end of tubes into Eric Ryan's head. Eric Ryan slammed Alex Colon's face into tubes. Outside the ring, these guys threw chairs at each other. Alex Colon did a frog splash onto Eric Ryan, who had tubes laid across him. Eric Ryan gave Alex Colon a superplex through a pane of glass and Dred came in to attack Eric Ryan. Necro Butcher attacked Dred. Eric Ryan got the roll-up for the win. This was an intense match and it was cool because it set up Dred/Necro Butcher.

Eric Ryan won via pinfall

2.75/5

Overall

This was a solid show without a bad match on it. I just really wish SVN would use an app that was available on Amazon Fire, but perhaps one day.

Tommy Vendetta v. Toru Suguira

After some wrestling, Suguira threw a charge at Tommy Vendetta. Tommy Vendetta got back on offense by using a gusset. After some solid wrestling, Toru Suguira put a chair across Tommy Vendetta and used a sledgehammer on him. Tommy Vendetta did a backpack senton through a board to Toru Suguira. The end was crazy, Tommy Vendetta hit Toru Suguira with a tube bundle and hit Suguira with a piledriver but Suguira kicked out at 1 and finished off Tommy Vendetta. This was a solid wrestling-heavy match.

Toru Suiguira won via pinfall

These 4 baked outside of the ring. Or there we had gussets, fences, and chaos. In the ring, Danny Demanto wired out Rina Yamashita with a chair. Dr. Redacted and Jun Kasai exchanged tube shots. Dr. Redacted went through a barbed wire board to which Kasai and Rina smacked the board that was stuck to Dr. Redacted with chairs. Danny Demanto gave Rina Yamashita a superplex off a ladder. Once they got back in the ring, John Wayne Murdoch jammed a safety pin in Ito's face, then ripped it out. These two exchanged tube bundles. Joel Bateman jammed skewers into Jun Kasai's head and gave him a DDT. Jun Kasai hit the Pearl Harbor splash off a ladder but Joel Bateman kicked out at 1. This was a great match, and I know this meant a lot to Joel Bateman, so I'm happy he got his match.

Jun Kasai won via pinfall

3.75/5

This was another very good effort on ICW NHB's part. It started slow for me, but the show picked up and ended as a MOTY Candidate.

CZW: Tournament of Death 22

Dred v. Nick Gage in a First-Round Match

Nick Gage and Dred went right at it and Gage put Dred through various objects that had tubes on them. These two exchanged tube shots outside of the ring. These two continued to battle outside of the ring. Once they beat each other outside of the ring, Nick Gage stomped Dred's head into tacks. Nick Gage did the pizza cutter spot to Dred. Gage suplexed Dred onto a TV covered in light tubes. And just like that Dred finished the match with a suplex through some tubes. This was an amazing match and a great way to start the show.

Dred advanced via pinfall

4.5/5

Hoodfoot v. Akira in a First-Round Match

We started with some strikes. These guys tried multiple times to break a barbed wire table and Hoodfoot finally got it with a spear to Akira. Outside of the ring Hoodfoot wore out Akira with tubes. Akira stapled Hoodfoot's hand to a table. Akira used skewers on Hoodfoot. Akira finished this with a stomp through a table onto tubes. The thing that impressed me about this match wasn't the death match spots. It was how good a wrestling match these two had. This was solid.

Akira advanced via pinfall

3.25/5

Drake Younger v. Dimitri Alexandrov in a First-Round Match

Dimitri Alexandrov suplexed Drake Younger through a barbed wire board. After some strikes, Drake Younger hit Dimitri with a barbed wire bat, then Drake put Dimitri through a door with tubes. Drake Younger got the advantage back, but did the tiger driver to Dimitri onto a pile of chairs and a barbed wire crutch. Drake Younger finished the match with a Drake's landing onto a tube bundle. This match was fucking phenomenal.

Drake Younger advanced via pinfall

4.5/5

Mickie Knuckles v. Rickey Shane Page

We started with some wrestling, then the party started when Rickey Shane Page went through a pane of glass and Mickie Knuckles jammed glass into Page's mouth. Rickey Shane Page put Mickie Knuckles through a pane of glass. A shard of glass actually went through Rickey Shane Page's finger and Mickie pulled the glass out with her teeth. Mickie Knuckles finished the match with a splash in the corner through a pane of glass. This match was decent but a bit slow for my liking.

Mickie Knuckles advanced via pinfall

2.5/5

Tim Strange v. Shlak in a First-Round Match

Shlak stabbed Tim Strange in the face with a nail. Shlak hit Tim Strange with a board that had a nail in it. Tim Strange gave Shlak a splash on a wooden pallet. Shlak ended up getting the pin. This was a brutal match but too short if you ask me.

Shlak advanced via pinfall

2.5/5

JJ Allin v. Eric Ryan in a First-Round Match

JJ Allin had a badass entrance where he came out in a car that was on fire. Eric Ryan came out of nowhere and blasted JJ Allin in the head with a Thumbtack bat. Eric Ryan busted Terra Cotta over the head of JJ Allin. After trying to break out the windows of the car, which would not break, JJ Allin gave Eric Ryan a sidewalk slam through the back window of a car. Eric Ryan used a Weedwacker on JJ Allin. To finish the match, after one of JJ Allin's gonna got hit by a car, Eric Ryan hit the head stomp for the win. This was a crazy match that you had to see to believe.

2.75/5

Eron Ashe cut a promo on Death Match wrestling, and Jimmy Lloyd came out and interrupted Eron Ashe and challenged him for a championship match at the October show.

Drake Younger v. Dred v. Akira in a Second-Round Match

We started the match battling outside. These guys exchanged tube shots. Akira gave Drake Younger a falcon arrow onto a box of tubes. Dred smashed tubes over Drake Younger and slammed Younger onto a box of tubes. Drake Younger gave a snap dragon to Dred, who had a tube behind his back somehow, while Akira and Drake were fighting. 3.5/5

Mickie Knuckles v. Eric Ryan v. Shlak in a 300 Light Tube and Tokyo Tower Light Tube Death Match in the Second Round

Shlak took a double suplex through a tube bundle. These guys broke tubes over each other. Shlak got the pin. This was too short, and considering who was in it, I expected more. I don't know if it was the weather but this was rushed.

Shlak advanced via pinfall

1.5/5

Tarp of Death

This was a chaotic battle royal. I have no idea what I watched, but I liked it.

CC Booth won Tarp of Death

Dred v. Shlak in the finals of Tournament of Death 2022

After rolling around on a puddle of rainwater, blood, and glass, Shlak hit Dred with a chairshot to the head. Dred hit Shlak with a light tube fan. Shlak speared Dred outside of the ring through a door and a tube bridge. These two fought on top of a trailer, and Dred threw Shlak off the trailer through a table stack and a tube cabin. Shlak immediately got up and wore Dred out with a chair. Shlak broke the entrance sign on Dred. Dred came back into the ring and threw Shlak into the ring where an explosion went off. These two went on top of a scaffold where Shlak threw Dred off through an exploding table and this wasn't even the finish! Shlak finished this with a bag over the head. All I can say is we witnessed a historic death match here. The image of the scaffold bump Dred took and the literal pool of blood will be in Death Match videos forecer. Unreal.

Shlak won Tournament of Death 22 via pinfall

5/5

Overall

This has to be one of the better tournaments of 2022. The First Round was great. 2nd round was decent. Tarp of Death was magical, and the finals are a Death Match classic that'll live on forever.

Orin Veidt v. Bryce Five in a First-Round Match

Bryce did a tilt-a-whirl leg scissor to Orin Veidt and Veidt went through a tube bundle. Orin Veidt worked over Bryce Five by carving him around the ring with a tube. After some back and forth with tubes, Bryce Five did a senton through a pane of glass. Orin Veidt finished the match with an iconoclasm off the top rope through a pane of glass. The match was fine it just got a little repetitive with the tube shots.

Dysfunction started out working with GQ Giannos with a tube. GQ Giannos gave Dysfunction a Falcon Arrow on a tube. Dysfunction jammed a gusset into Giannos's arm. GQ Giannos got back on offense by putting Dysfunction through a door. GQ Giannos finished the match with a cutter through a pane of glass. GQ Giannos advanced via pinfall

2/5

Dr. Redacted v. Tommy Trainwreck in a First-Round Match

Redacted jump-started the match by Jung Woo dropkicking Tommy Trainwreck through a pane of glass. Tommy Trainwreck took this outside of the ring and got Redacted with tubes. Dr. Redacted used a popper bat to jam a gusset into Tommy Trainwreck's arm. Once they got back into the ring, Redacted did a double stop through a tube bundle to Trainwreck, and Trainwreck jammed a gusset into Redacted and put Redacted through a door. After hitting Tommy Trainwreck with a keyboard, Dr. Redacted did a Senton through a tube bundle to Trainwreck. Tommy Trainwreck got the pin. This was a great match with 2 of the greats doing what they do.

Orin Veidt v. GQ Giannos v. Tommy Trainwreck v. Bobby V in the Insane 8 finals

Here's how this works: 2 men start, and every 5 minutes, a new entrant comes in. After all have entered, the match starts, and whoever is left wins. GQ Giannos and Bobby V started. GQ Giannos started off hot with an exploding bat and tubes on Bobby V. Bobby V attacked GQ Giannos with a barbed wire bat. GQ Giannos got Bobby V with a golf club to the nuts. Tommy Trainwreck came out next. Trainwreck and Bobby headbutted light tubes into GQ Giannos then turned around and headbutted each other with tubes. Tommy Trainwreck won Insane 8

3.75/5

Overall

This had some really solid matches and it was a strong tournament. Some stuff was a bit repetitive, but this tournament, I'm sure, put a few new faces on the map.
