SVN: King of the Death Matches 2024

Shlak v. Ninja Mack in a First-Round 200 Cuts Death Match

This is he we started King of the Death Match 2024. The match started sloppy but picked up when Ninja Mack used throwing stars on Shlak. Ninja Mack shot Shlak with a Blow Dart Gun. This was an okay match but the thing that took away from it was how sloppy this was. There were many botches here.

Bestia 666 v. Big Fn Joe in a First-Round Doorway to Death Match.

This was our next First-Round Match. Bestia started the match off by attacking Joe before the match started. Big Fn Joe drove Bestia 666 through a barbed wire door. This had some nice brawling but this wasn't long enough for me.

Big Fn Joe advanced via pinfall

Judge Joe Dred v. Otis Cogar in a First-Round Dog Collar Match

This was another First-Round Match. Judge Joe Dred used the gavel to jam a spike into Otis Cogar's eye. Otis Cogar pounced Judge Joe Dred through a pane of glass. Otis used his signature straight razor and gave Judge Joe Dred a really bad cut on his forehead. Otis Cogar hit a beautiful moonsault onto a bed of tacks. This was a nice behemoth fight, and Judge Joe Dred was cut well. I hope he's okay.

Otis Cogar advanced via submission

3.5/5

Jake Crist v. Masada in a First-Round Sticks and Stones Match

We had another First-Round Match. Masada stabbed Jake Crist with a jagged stick. Masada got beat with a sock full of rocks by Jake Crist. These two skewered each other then Jake Crist gave Masada a cutter. Jake Crist gave Masada a Frankensteiner onto a bed of rocks. Masada powerbombed and pildrove Jake Crist into a pile of sticks for the win. This was a very violent and hard-hitting match. I liked this one.

Masada advanced via pinfall

Aeroboy v. Journey Fatu in a First-Round Match

Journey Fatu kneed Aeroboy with a tube bundle wrapped in Barbed Wire then threw Aeroboy through a door. Journey Fatu hit a devastating tope. Journey Fatu destroyed a door over Aeroboy's head. Multiple light tubes with barbed wire were used. This was an amazing hard-hitting fight. Great stuff.

Journey Fatu advanced via pinfall

4.5/5

Orin Veidt v. Hoodfoot in a First-Round Match

We had our last First-Round Match. We had Tokyo Towers and a surplus of tubes used here. Orin Veidt threw a pane of glass at Hoodfoot. This was a good match, and they made good use of the tubes; my only complaint is nitpicky as fuck, but some of the spots with the tubes were a bit repetitive for me. But still a very good match.

Hoodfoot advanced via pinfall

3.5/5

Shlak v. Masada in a Semi-Final Match

We had our first match of the Semi-Final next. Shlak took a face-first bump through a pane of glass. Shlak got cut vad behind the ear from going through another pane of glass. This match did feel short, but Shlak was bleeding severely, so that could have had something to do with it.

Shlak advanced via pinfall

2/5

Journey Fatu v. Otis Cogar in a Semi-Final Match

We had our next Semi-Final Match. Otis used his straight razor and, this time, cut at Journey Fatu's leg. Otis Cogar finished the match by using a headshot with a chair. This was an okay match but this very slowly paced.

Otis Cogar advanced via pinfall

2/5

Hoodfoot v. Big Fn Joe in a Semi-Final Match

This was our last Semi-Final Match. Big Fn Joe usually wears a button-up shirt and tightly whities, except here he's just wearing tighty whities because his shirt was ripped off in the First Round. Joe fishhooked Hoddfoot with a coat hanger. A tube with Trump on it was used. This was a good match from two people I think the world of.

Hoodfoot advanced via pinfall

3.25/5

Bobby Beverly defended the Ultraviolent Championship against Alex Colon

We had a nontournament match with 2 Death Match legends. The way Alex Colon dies that tope into his opponents and still can hit hard as fuck with a light tube amazes me. These two brawled into the crowd. Alex Colon used a table from the bar as a weapon. A guardrail with light tubes was used. Alex Colon gave Bobby a slam on the entrance stage. Bobby Beverly gave Alex Colon a fisherman's driver off of the stage through a glass pane structure. This was absolute insanity and I loved this match.

Bobby Beverly retained via pinfall

4/5

Otis Cogar v. Shlak v. Hoodfoot in the Finals of King of the Death Matches

This one was for all the marbles. We had a bare board canvas for this one. Hoodfoot got caught in barbed wire diving through the ropes. A lot of tubes were broken here. Otis Cogar gave Hoodfoot some stiff chair shots. Shlak hit Hoodfoot with a flaming chair. Bobby Beverly came out and threw a Chair at Otis Cogar to continue the 44OH dissension storyline, and Shlak threw Otis off of the Scaffold through a glass and door pile below to eliminate Otis Cogar Then Shlak finished off Hoodfoot with a snow plow to become your king. This match was what it should have been and that's a brutal hoss fight. It sucks the door glass structure fell and the exploding chair went off early but this was still a great way to end the Tournament.

Shlak won King of the Death Matches via pinfall

3.75/5

After the match, Shlak called out Jun Kasai and Bobby Beverly

Overall

This show was enjoyable. Very long though. This was just like most tournaments: a lot of bangers, and some matches could have been better. If you've got some time on your hands check this out.

6/10
