Shlak v. Jeff King in a Round One Match
This was the start of the King of the Kill Tournament. The match itself was short and a little slow. Towards the end, it felt rushed but that could be because Jeff King took a Power Bomb onto a chair and smacked his head on the seat so he may have been concussed. This was just okay but like I said, it could have been other circumstances.
Shlak advanced via pinfall

Otis Cogar v. Matt Tremont in a First-Round Match
These two behemoths squared off next to see who would advance to the next round. This reminded me of a Godzilla movie with these two big men destroying everything in their path and beating each other with anything not nailed down. Otis had a nice spot using dual Straight Razors on Tremont's mouth. These two big men flew too. Otis landed a nice moonsault onto a pane of glass and Tremont did an Avalanche off the top rope onto a Tube Bundle. In the end, the Black Abdullah the Butcher did what he does best and carved up Otis with a fork. I enjoyed this brutal match which set the tone for things to come.
Matt Tremont advanced via referee stoppage

Lou Nixon defended the RPW Rust Belt Championship against Dr. Redacted in a First Round Match.
In this Tournament, the Rust Belt Championship was on the line in every round. We started with Dr. Redacted bringing a bomb to the ring, which did get used in a spot in the match. These two spent most of the match brawling outside and even ended up fighting in a Corn Field. Dr. Redacted hit a nice senton off the apron through a door. These two then went back to the ring and hit each other with tubes and glass then slowed it down for some chain wrestling. The momentum kind of got lost in a spot where they couldn't get the door to break. It was a fun match but it was a shame about the door.
Lou Nixon retained and advanced via submission

Judge Joe Dred v. Cassanova Valentine in a First Round Last Man Standing Match
Steven Jury ordered this to be a Last Man Standing Match so it was. This had a lot of outside brawling with Judge Joe Dred taking a vicious bump through a construction barrier. The key part of this match was Steven Jury's involvement and how he even took a bump through the unbreakable door. That part felt very old school heel and I loved it. The match itself was slow for me but the creative finish of having Cassanova Valentine tied up was a cool idea.

Chuck Stein and Brandon St. James v. Randi West and Schwartzy
This match was nontournament. And it had some cool stuff like Chuck Stein's Syringe spot and I liked that the spot where Brandon St. James went knee-first through the glass was used as the finish. This was a nice comedy match used to lighten people up in between rounds of the tournament and I liked it.
Randi West and Schwartzy won via pinfall

Lou Nixon defended the RPW Rust Belt Championship against Judge Joe Dred in a Second Round Match
This was Lou Nixon's second defense of the evening. Lou laid in his kicks while using Tubes which I love. Lou even busted out the Light Tube Nunchucks. But Lou Nixon got his back cut good and couldn't get past the cheating of Steven Jury and Judge Joe Dred. This was a great match and I loved the shock of Judge Joe Dred winning. I didn't call that one.
Judge Joe Dred won the RPW Rust Belt Championship and advanced via pinfall

Shlak v. Matt Tremont in a Second-Round Match
The winner of this gets a shot at the RPW Rust Belt Championship in the next round. We had another Godzilla match where These two destroyed each other. Shlak smashed a Cinderblock on Tremont's hand and put him through a Door covered in Tubes for the win. This was very short and I could have used more of this but it set up a cool match in H20 in November.
Shlak advanced via pinfall

Remington Rhor defended the RPW Kamikaze Championship against That Kyle
This was a good way to showcase the Kamikaze Championship on a big stage. Before this match, I did not know much of That Kyle but now I do. This dude is legit in the ring and can take insane amounts of punishment. Kyle did a nice spot on Rhor where he dropped in on Rhor with a light tube-covered skateboard. But after that, Remington Rhor beat the fuck out of him and threw a Shopping Cart with tubes on it at Kyle. The finish was insanity with Kyle raking a Death Valley Driver through a Barbed Wire Net with a Pane of Glass on top. This was a great match that I would put up there with any of the Tournament matches.
Remington Rhor retained via pinfall

Judge Joe Dred defended the RPW Rust Belt Championship against Shlak in a Third Round Match
This was it, this was to decide who won King of the Kill 2. This was kinda slow but very brutal and we saw Steven Jury attempt to cheat but Matt Tremont came out and took care of Steven Jury. This was a good match and a nice surprise that Shlak won.
Shlak won the RPW Rust Belt Championship and advanced via submission

Shlak defended the RPW Rust Belt Championship against Tommy Vendetta in the Finals of King of the Kill
I like this concept. Since Tommy Vendetta won King of the Kill last year and Shlak won this year the two faced off to see who is the real King of the Kill. The story of the match was simple. It was Tommy Vendetta wearing shirts. To get heat Tommy wore layers which is a bold move in that heat. Once Shlak got all the layers off he destroyed Tommy Vendetta by Power Bombing him onto broken glass. This was a great way to end the tournament and I'm happy with Shlak winning
Shlak retained the RPW Rust Belt Championship and won King of the Kill 2

Overall
This was a pretty solid tournament. The second round was flawless and I like how there was a storyline in pretty much every tournament match because it made it super exciting to watch and witness live. The nontournament matches were even solid. I can't wait for next year and if you haven't checked out RPW you're fucking up and you need your head examined. Go to IWTV and watch this
