GCW: Nick Gage Invitational 9

Drew Parker v. Violento Jack in a First-Round Match

We had our First first-round match. They came out swinging with tubes and Drew Parker got his dart spot in. We had some good chain wrestling.  Violento Jack gave Drew Parker a package piledriver off of the apron through a Tokyo Tower and Door with cans on it contraption. This was a great match and a great way to kick off the tournament.

Takayuki Euki v. Rina Yamashita in a First-Round Match

We had our next First-Round Match.  Rina Yamashita drove Takayuki Euno headfirst through a door. He has both people pounding gusset plates into each other's heads. Takayuki Euki used a pumpkin as a weapon. These two got barefoot and fought in barbed wire. Shout out to my boy Jake who got to Irish whip Takayuki Euki.  These two wrestled in tacks still barefoot. Rina Yamashita finished the match by putting a bundle of tubes in Takayuki Euki's trunks and giving him the Splash. I had fun watching this match, and I appreciated the elements of comedy in it.

Brandon Kirk defended the Ultraviolent Championship against Tommy Vendetta, Dr. Redacted, and Tank in a First-Round Match

We had our next First-Round Match, but this time, it was a q 4-Way match, and Brandon Kirk was defending the Ultraviolent Championship. Tank no selling water jug sticks from Redacted and Tommy Vendetta was amazing. This was also very chaotic, but we had chains, trash cans, and tubes all used, so that made up for it. Dr. Redacted got his Trash can spot in, but this time, he got to do it off of a Scaffold. Brandon Kirk used a popper bat on Dr. Redacted. As chaotic and hard to keep track of this was this was great. Also, on a personal level, I'm proud of Dr. Redacted and everything he's accomplished. It's a great feeling to see good things happen to good people.

Brandon Kirk retained and advanced via pinfall

John Wayne Murdoch v. Sawyer Wreck in a First-Round Match

This was the last First-Round Match but it was announced before the Tournament that this was Sawyer Wreck's final night in pro wrestling. Sawyer Wreck used a pizza cutter on John Wayne Murdoch. These two had a great light tube exchange where both were bleeding badly. This was quick but vicious. I liked the match and the surprise of Sawyer Wreck winning.

Jay Lucas v. Mr. Danger v. Terry Yaki

We had a 3 way to give us a break from tournament action. This was what you would expect and that's a spotfest. It was a scary moment at the finish when Mr. Danger smacked his face on the mat, coming off the top rope for a 450; I hope he's good. Other than that I liked this match.

Mr. Danger won via pinfall
2.75/5

Brandon Kirk defended the Ultraviolent Championship against Rina Yamashita in a Second-Round Match

This was our first Second-Round Match and it was a rematch from Fight Club. Brandon Kirk powerbombed Rina Yamashita through a stack of light tube cabins. Rina Yamashita got Brandon Kirk back by giving him the Russian Leg Sweep onto a ladder wrapped in light tubes. These two managed to mix in a strong style exchange as well. The finish was good with Brandon Kirk giving Rina Yamashita a piledriver through a table hanging in the corner. This was a great match and a surprise. Brandon Kirk advanced if you ask me.

Brandon Kirk retained and advanced via pinfall
3/5

Sawyer Wreck v. Drew Parker in a Second-Round Match

This was the last Second-Round Match, and it 2as another quick one but told a good story of Drew Parker thinking he had it in the bag, but Sawyer coming from out of nowhere and getting the better of him. Good match and again, another surprise I didn't see coming.

Sawyer Wreck advanced via pinfall
2.5/5

Miyu Yamashita v. Broski Jimmy

This was another non tournament match. For Miyu Yamashita, having not been in too many Death Matches, she looked good here using trash cans and doors; I mean, those kicks to the trash can were brutal. Miyu Yamashita also used a pane of glass. This was very cool.

Miyu Yamashita won via pinfall
2.75/5

Mance Warner came out and cut a promo on Effy challenging him for the show on November 23rd and riling up the crowd in the process.

Brandon Kirk defended the Ultraviolent Championship against Sawyer Wreck in the Finals of the NGI 9

This was Sawyer Wreck's last match and it was for all the marbles.  The only crazy stuff in this was tubes being busted. However, this gets bumped up a few pegs because I love that Sawyer got to go out like a queen. She deserves that send-off for sure, and I got emotional seeing it. The match was okay, but I got a good, happy ending, and I'm sicker for that.

Sawyer Wreck won the NGI and Ultraviolent Championship via pinfall
3/5

After the match, we had a promo from Brandon Kirk putting Sawyer Wreck over. Then Sawyer Wreck gave her retirement speech and said the Ultraviolent Championship would be decided at Hammerstein. Then a Masked man came out and attacked Sawyer Wreck; that Masked man was Atticus Cogar, so hell froze over.

Overall

This might be the best GCW show I've ever seen start to finish. Sawyer got the sendoff she deserved. There was not a bad match on this show and every match had a memorable moment. This was amazing

9.5/10
