GCW: Fight Club 2024 Night 1

Violence is Forever defended the GCW Tag Team Championship against Grim Reefer and Ruckus

Violence is Forever has been on a rampage since becoming tag team champions and they defended them against the east coast legends of Grim Reefer and Ruckus. This was a well wrestled match. Violence is Forever brought it with the hard strikes, and Grim Reefer and Ruckus proved they can both still go hard. This was an enjoyable match.

Violence is Forever retained via pinfall

Alec Price v. Gringo Loco

This is a singles match with two guys who can go. Gringo does something that blows my mind every time he gets into the ring. He pulled off a monkey flip into a powerbomb. And I'm convinced Alec Price can hit a DDT from anywhere. So it's a war game 2 rings set up; Alec Price went from the end of ring 2, got on the ropes facing ring one, and did a springboard DDT to Gringo Loco. This match was what it should have been, a nice spot fest I enjoyed.

Masha Slamovich defended the JCW Championship against Kerry Morton

Masha is great, but I'm not the biggest Kerry Morton fan, so I was skeptical going into this one. The match was eh and had a DQ finish, so I wasn't too into it.

Masha Slamovich won via Disqualification
2/5

Sidney Akeem v. Leon Slater

On paper, this looked like a very fast-paced and athletic contest. This was pretty much what I expected. There were a lot of flips and a lot of high-flying. This was decent.

Sidney Akeem won via pinfall

2 Tuff Tony v. Lou Nixon v. Bam Sullivan v. Mr. Danger v. Ciclope v. John Wayne Murdoch in a Number One Contenders Hardcore Scramble Match

Shout to party Marty for taking that shot of whatever 2 Tuff Tony had like a man. Usually, I hate GCW Scrambles, but I saw who's in this, and it's a Hardcore Scramble, so I'm in. We had gussets, Mr. Danger diving off of a U-Haul, John Wayne Murdoch doing a brainbuster to Mr. Danger through a door off the apron, and tubes used. For a scramble, this was good, and Mr. Danger was the MVP of this match.

Ciclope won via pinfall
2.75/5

Cole Radrick v. Blake Christian

I was excited about the return of Cole Radrick. This was a good match, and Cole Radrick came back looking just as good as ever.

Cole Radrick won via pinfall

Rina Yamashita defended the Ultraviolent Championship against Brandon Kirk

I'm glad to see Rina back in the States. Rina busted Brandon Kirk open good with tubes. These two had a nice gusset plate exchange. Rina Yamashita used a rake of light tubes. I loved this match, and I loved the surprise of Brandon Kirk winning; he deserves it, and I hope he kills this title reign.

Brandon Kirk won the Ultraviolent Championship via pinfall

The Art of War Games

Death Match Royalty (Matt Cardona, Broski Jimmy, Mance Warner and ?) V. Team Janela ( Joey Janela, Effy, Manders and ?)

Here's our war games Match. Mance Warner and Joey Janela started the match. These two had some cool cage spots and got some gusset spots in. Joey Janela busted out some tubes. As Manders came out Joey Janela went through a barbed wire door. Broski Jimmy came out next. Broski Jimmy got handcuffed to the cage and then took chair shots from Joey, Janel, and Manders. Effy came out next. Matt Cardona came out next. Matthew Justice came out next and immediately dove out of the cage. Justice took an insane bump when he got hit with an exploding bat and fell off a Scaffold through tables below. Broski Jimmy got pushed off the Scaffold through a barbed wire trampoline. Bully Ray was the final entrant. Joey Janela took a bump through a flaming table and got lit on fire. Allie Katch came out and turned on Effy. The match was good and left a lot of stuff unfinished which I liked. This is what this should have been.

Deathmatch Royalty won via pinfall
4/5

Overall

Other than the scramble(for once), the Rina/Brandon match, and the War Games, I thought this show was pretty forgettable. Plus, I have no idea what happened to the Terminal, but the setup they had outside of the Waterpark was very distracting.
