ICW NHB: Vol. 80

Dr. Redacted v. JB Anderson

This was a Carpet Strip Death Match. What a great match this was. Both men did awesome spots with the carpet strips. These two had a great brawl outside the ring, and when Dr. Redacted used the blue mist, these men looked like extras from the Blue Man Group. Redacted is the best American Death Match wrestler right now and JB Anderson had a strong first outing for ICW.

Dr. Redacted won via pinfall

The Pillars v. The Howell OG's

ICW doesn't do a lot of tag matches, and if this is what they have to offer, I want more. This wasn't a death match per se, but it was a good wrestling match with some cool door and chair spots. MM3, Tommy Vendetta, Jimmy Lloyd, and KTB can all go in the ring, so of course this was good.

The Pillars won via pinfall
3.25/5

After the match, the Pillars called out the IWTV Tag Team Champions for the August 2nd Show.

Nathan Mowery v. Eric Ryan

The Stipulation here was a Terra Kata Terror Death Match. For me, the only thing that I saw was these two just doing slams into the pile of Terra Kata. I feel these two could have had a better match, and I was let down by this.

Eric Ryan won via pinfall
2.25/5

Danny Demanto v. Bear Bronson
To start the match Jeff Cannonball came out with Danny Demanto to say hi to the Heart Ballroom. Unfortunately, Tara Zep was unable to make the show due to injury, but a debuting Bear Bronson stepped up. Bear Bronson has impressed me in the short time he's been doing Death Matches. This man is a monster and can bleed like no one's business. This was an awesome match and shout out to Justin Finn for getting thrown by Bear Bronson. One day Justin Finn will be doing the throwing.

Bear Bronson won via pinfall
3.5/5

After the match, Danny put over his opponent on the mic and put over Jeff Cannonball, and Jeff Cannonball addressed the ICW crowd in a tearjerking moment.

Slade v. Otis Cogar
This was your Godzilla against King Kong fight of the night. This was very intense. Slade got a cut from a Thumbtack Bat on his arm and lost a ridiculous amount of blood. I hope Slade didn't hit an artery. This was good.

2.5/5

Bobby Beverly v. Reed Bentley

This was a dry ice Death Match, and these two made use of the dry ice. I mean, these two were putting down each other's shirts, slamming each other into the dry ice, and Reed Bentley took off Bobby Beverly's boot and slammed him feet first into the dry ice. The finish was Bobby Beverly doing the Fisherman's Buster into the dry ice. The was some very gnarly stuff. I loved it.

Bobby Beverly won via pinfall
3.5/5

John Wayne Murdoch defended the American Death Match Championship against Akira

John Wayne Murdoch won the title in Japan and is defending his newly won championship against the Big Japan Death Match Champion Akira. Both Rejects were out there so there was a lot of interference from Reed Bentley. These two were having a classic, using all the glass, and Akira even gave JWM a gnarly suplex onto a Cinderblock, but Christian Napier and Atticus Cogar returned to attack John Wayne Murdoch and Akira. I was loving this, but the lack of finish, I wouldn't say ruined it for me, but it took away. Let's see where the VNDL 48 returning story goes.

No Contest
3/5

Overall

ICW NHB continues to fire on all cylinders. For me, most of this card was good to great. The last 2 matches were incredible, and my favorite was the Redacted/Anderson Match. The Demanto/Bronson match stood out too. Good shit.

7/10
